Things that are making me happy

1. Christian toddling his six or seven careening steps with a big ol' grin and shriek of joy.
2. Dan, Noah, and Isaac playing Uno with all their might.
3. Pink smoothies.
4. Two year old John squatting the three inches lower to Baby's level and coaxing Chris to join in the fun and trying to carry him if the crawl is slower than hoped.
5. Boys fascinated by the new mower with a self propelled drive wheel and begging to mow the lawn again three days after the first go.  ("Maybe, just maybe, if you are really, really good and get everything else done ...")
6.  That place just under the kitchen air conditioner vent where 79 degrees feels almost truly cold.  (And the cats sprawled all over the tile just under it).
7.  Seeing the scorpion in the garage first.
8.  Smashing the scorpion in the garage.
9.  Books en route via UPS.  (A very pretty version of Peter Pan to read with Noah this year).
10.  Dan and Noah thrilled with The Bears of Blue River and summer days to read 70 pages at a sitting.  (Action, adventure, NOT the friendly pet-bear book I had assumed, but one the boys absolutely love).
11.  All the flies swatted.
12.  Sprinkers three times a day.
13.  Ice cubes.
14.  The boys naming new little mice.  ("Mrs. Antonio", "Hot Chocolate", "Hurria", "Bagheera", and "Gherkha".  Subject to change, often.)
15.  Everyone still calling the room Aunt Charity had on her visit, "Charity's room", even though she's been gone two weeks.
16.  Bean bag wars.

Lovely praises. Hey I am rereading a book that I found last year. It is so good. Fool's Gold by Stephen Bly. It is so wholesome it just left me feeling good. Set in Nevada in 1905. A family living out their faith during hard times. Must go back and keep reading.
Blessings,

Where do the exotic names for the mice come from?

Hi Mom, Charity and Jo! Margaret, Mrs. Antonio is Isaac's, Hot Chocolate is Peter's, Hurria is Noahs (not to be confused with his rabbit Furria and his Beta fish Maria)., Noah also named John's Bagheera (Jungle Book is scheduled for Dan's 3rd grade and they've been pouring over it lately), and no idea where they came up with Gherkha. Dan and Noah thought it up somehow. Dan's changing it to Jewel now I think though. :)
