Eight Boys Let Loose on Cabrillo Tide Pools ...

After Peter's recent cast removal check in San Diego, we figured we may as well do something fun too and joined our friends the Saads and had a blast exploring a bit of Cabrillo's tide pools.  Such cool, grey weather was a balm to my desert-dried soul!  It's been two and a half years since moving from Vista near the beach and the boys had forgotten tide pool critters.  And the joy of perching on a boulder and daring the spray to reach you.  They found lobster parts, slid down small sandstone cliffs, got to touch a live crab, and were pulled back from cliff edges and kept from death.  It was a good trip.  I'm so glad God made oceans, and watching little boys enjoy them is great!

Fourth from the bottom: Danny looks cold.

That's exactly why he's huddled up behind that rock: he's seeking shelter from the breeze blowing in off the ocean after playing in the relatively cold water.

Love it! Tidepools are definetly a highlight at the ocean. :) I could only imagine how cold the boys were... a tad bit of a temp. differ.: the desert vs. the ocean. Faith, you're lookin good! :)

I love seeing the ocean pictures. Being so far from the ocean, too, I do miss seeing the kids playing on the beach with fresh eyes.
Here's an Ergo question for you. How do you carry the stuff you need-water, food, diapers, layers-and wear an Ergo? It looks like you have some sort of pack attached to it in one picture?

Katie - there are a couple accessories you can get for the Ergos. We have the backpack like this one at Amazon:

Ours is three years old and a little different though. Must be better now - I'm sure we didn't pay that! It holds diapers, wipes, nursing cover, and a couple water bottles. It does add weight to the backpack but is way better than trying to lug a diaper bag along too.
